Detailed Description

Field Guide and Speaker Amber Gullikson discusses Cinder Lake Crater Field 2. This crater field was created in the 1960s by the USGS and NASA and used to train Apollo astronauts and test lunar rovers. Today, this crater field is used to train and test Artemis Astronauts and their field equipment.  Astrogeology provided transportation as a 4WD vehicle is required to drive up to the crater field.
