Track seedlings with toothpicks
Detailed Description
The RestoreNet experiment tests restoration treatments that show promise for increasing success of seeding efforts in arid lands. To find out how treatments compare, USGS scientists track newly emerged seedlings with toothpicks. This helps us understand if a seed germinated and later died or if it never germinated at all. RestoreNet is part of the Restoration Assessment and Monitoring Program for the Southwest.
