TWL&CC Survey
Detailed Description
Woods Hole scientists surveyed Head of the Meadow Beach and Marconi Beach using a heli-kite, camera, and photogrammetry for the beach and bluffs, and an autonomous boat with GPS and sonar for the offshore portion. This work resulted in two data releases. The latest surveys show that at Head of the Meadow Beach, dunes are growing, but the offshore bar has changed very little. By contrast, the bars at Marconi Beach are active, and have changed substantially since the 2021 survey. This work is part of the Total Water Level and Coastal Change project.
