USGS EROS Interns Study Fire in Black Hills National Forest

Detailed Description
Kurtis Nelson (USGS), Katelyn Woolfrey and Chris Woody (USGS) record seedling counts in Black Hills National Forest. Woolfrey was taking part in a summer-long internship with USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Fire Science, studying fire severity and comparing traditional field measurements with lidar scans. She will continue to work part time analyzing the data collected through the school year.
