USGS hydrologist Scot Ducar examines a rock taken from southern Idaho's Snake River for the presence of aquatic insects. Ducar was part of a team of USGS scientists monitoring the health of the river's benthic communities before and after copper treatments to eradicate invasive quagga mussels.
