January 28, 2025 USGS Hydrography Community Call: 3D Hydrography Program Announcements and “HydroAdd3D Sneak Peak”

Steve Aichele, the National Geospatial Program Hydrography Management and Planning Lead, announced release of updated Elevation Derived Hydrography Specifications and publication of the following products and services:
- The final Watershed Boundary Dataset, available as a Web Map Service (WMS) and as downloadable datasets (National and HU2)
- 3DHP National Downloadable Datasets for Alaska and the contiguous U.S. (CONUS), available in geodatabase and geopackage formats
- 3DHP Esri Feature Service, a new web service that provides users the flexibility of a downloadable dataset
Users can also access USGS Hydrography products and services and the USGS 3D Hydrography Program.
Mike Tinker, Cartographer with the National Geospatial Technical Operations Center, presented the special topic “HydroAdd3D Sneak Peak: Next generation web-based hydrography addressing tool”. HydroAdd3d is a web-based tool that will enable users to address data to the 3D49 Hydrography Program (3DHP) stream network. Presentation covered integration of GeoServer and GeoNode as the hosting platform for user data, and future processing improvements including faster Batch QC and faster publishing.
