Cheboygan Vessel Base Holds Fishery Trawl Net Workshop

A trawl net workshop was held at Cheboygan Vessel Base (GLSC, Cheboygan, Michigan) April 24-25, 2019. The workshop was presented by Innovative Net Systems from Milton, Louisiana. Greg Faulkner, an internationally recognized net designer and builder of fishery research nets presented the workshop. The intense, on-the-water workshop consisted of demonstration of Innovative Net Systems surface, midwater, and bottom trawls built with Dynema and Sapphire net technology. An evaluation of current GLSC nets and trawl doors was also conducted.
