COVID-19 Gives Lemons: Flagstaff Festival of Science Makes Lemonade
Flagstaff residents don’t need to wonder if the Annual Festival of Science will convene this year since organizers are one stride ahead and have been devising a plan for this exciting community activity to proceed. Astrogeology Science teams plan to be there.
The COVID-19 pandemic won’t be stopping the 31st Annual Flagstaff Festival of Science slated to run from September 18-27, and it will be the first time that organizers will showcase science and technology virtually. Like the old adage suggests, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”
“We believe we can turn this challenge into an opportunity to bring the Flagstaff Festival of Science into your homes, potentially reaching a wider audience than ever before,” writes the organizing group. More than 17,000 visitors and residents are known to have participated in prior annual festivals.
Astrogeology employees, along with employees from other USGS Science Centers, will be sharing more science and research with the community this year and hope to see you virtually join in.
