Dr. Yu-Chun Kao (GLSC, Ann Arbor, Michigan) will co-present at the monthly Coregonine Science Webinar Series hosted by the Great Lakes Fishery Commission on June 4, 2021. The presentation is titled “Historical analyses of cisco, lake whitefish, and non-native planktivores in the Upper Great Lakes: exploring evidence for potential competition.” Kao’s presentation will focus on how the leading cause of cisco extirpation may be identified by analyzing historical survey data collected by the then Bureau of Commercial Fisheries between 1952 and 1962.
