North Central CASC researcher Imtiaz Rangwala’s work on species status assessments with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was recently featured as a Climate Toolbox case study .

The Northwest CASC, in collaboration with NOAA’s Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA), NOAA’s National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS), and USDA Northwest Climate Hub, created The Climate Toolbox, a collection of web tools used for visualizing past and projected climate and water-related scenarios within the U.S.. The Climate Toolbox website includes a Case Studies Series that highlights several people and organizations who use the Toolbox in their decision-making process. North Central CASC Climate Science Lead, Imtiaz Rangwala, was recently featured in a case study that describes how he uses the Future Climate tools in the Toolbox to obtain data on future projected climate and to create graphics that summarize the climate and hydrology associated with a species’ habitat. Rangwala gathers data on projected climate for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to help assess the potential impact of future climate on different species and may inform their conservation and recovery efforts.
