SAFRR Participates in Coastal Resiliency Forum
SAFRR's Lucy Jones was invited by the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies to participate in a 2-day Coastal Resiliency Forum May 19-20 at the Keck Center of the National Academies in Washington, D.C.. With support from the NAS Resilient America Roundtable, Ocean Studies Board, Water Science and Technology Board, and the Board on Earth Sciences and Resources, the forum pulled together subject matter experts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration leadership to address coastal resiliency. Discussion focused specifically on potential resilience metrics that might aid agencies, operators, and planners in determining best courses of action amongst possible management strategies to address future coastal hazards.
