SAFRR Participates in Meeting for Ongoing Haywired Scenario Development with Partners

SAFRR members Dale Cox and Erin Burkett attended a meeting in Menlo Park, CA on March 21st for the Haywired Project, a scenario in development to help prepare the San Francisco Bay Area for a possible earthquake on the Hayward fault The meeting brought together USGS scientists, engineer Keith Porter who was part of previous scenarios, and representatives from utilities, communication, and transportation including EBMUD, CISCO, and BART. Outcomes included a better understanding of modeling capabilities and limitations in moving forward to build the Haywired scenario on sufficient understanding of infrastructure interdependencies.
