SAFRR/USGS Presentations on Earthquake Science and Risk
SAFRR scientist Erin Burkett gave three Preparedness Week presentations to share earthquake science, monitoring, and risk with Southern Californian audiences. On Monday, September 15th, Dr. Burkett presented for an audience of teachers at the Mt San Antonio College in Walnut, CA to kick off the beginning of their Emergency Preparedness Week. On Tuesday, September 16th, she was invited to present on earthquake science and risk with an emphasis on technology involved to TUGNET, a senior computer/technology organization in the San Fernando Valley. On Thursday, September 18th Dr. Burkett provided background on earthquake science and risk in Southern California and pointed to available USGS resources for the Southern California Earthquake 2014 Business Preparedness Summit in Riverside, CA.
