US Rep. Dan Kildee visits USGS research vessel Arcticus, Lake Huron

U.S. Representative Dan Kildee (MI-05) recently visited the Great Lakes Science Center's R/V Arcticus to learn more about our fishery research.

U.S. Representative Dan Kildee (MI-05) boarded the USGS research vessel Arcticus in East Tawas, Michigan, on October 14, 2018, for a two-hour cruise out into Lake Ontario. The Congressman witnessed the operations of a Great Lakes fishery research vessel and talked with GLSC scientists Darryl Hondorp and Pete Esselman (GLSC, Ann Arbor, Michigan) as well as Jill Wingifield of the Great Lakes Fishery Commission. The congressman learned about the Great Lakes Deepwater Science Program administered by the USGS in support of the binational cooperative management of the $7 billion Great Lakes fishery.
