The USGS Tribal relations team consists of two staff scientists and collateral-duty Regional Tribal Liaisons & Mission Area Tribal Relations Advisors. 

The U.S. Department of the Interior and the USGS uphold their trust responsibilities to foster relationships between the federal government and the federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes, Alaska Native Settlement Claims Act Corporations (ANCs), and Native Hawaiian Organizations (NHOs).
