Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Wildland-urban interface maps for the conterminous U.S. based on 125 million building locations Wildland-urban interface maps for the conterminous U.S. based on 125 million building locations
The wildland-urban interface (WUI) is the area where urban development occurs in close proximity to wildland vegetation. WUI maps for the conterminous U.S. were generated using building point locations, offering higher spatial resolution compared to previously developed WUI maps based on U.S. Census Bureau housing density data (Radeloff et al., 2017). Building point locations were...
Precomputed Percent Forested-Area Rasters Derived from NLCD 2016 in Support of the StreamStats Fire-Hydrology Application, Conterminous United States Precomputed Percent Forested-Area Rasters Derived from NLCD 2016 in Support of the StreamStats Fire-Hydrology Application, Conterminous United States
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) computed rasters of pre-solved values for the watersheds draining to the pixel delineation point representing the watershed's percent forested land cover from the National Land Cover Dataset (NLCD) 2016 data (land cover values 41-43). These values, which cover the conterminous United States at a scale of 30m pixel size, will be served in the National...
Historical groundwater and produced water chemistry data compiled for the Placerita and Newhall Oil Fields, Los Angeles County, southern California Historical groundwater and produced water chemistry data compiled for the Placerita and Newhall Oil Fields, Los Angeles County, southern California
This digital dataset includes 580 samples from 12 groundwater wells and 45 samples of produced water from 38 sites (including 17 wells) located within 3 miles of the Placerita and Newhall Oil Fields in Los Angeles County, southern California. Historical geochemistry data were compiled from multiple data sources for selected water-quality indicators, major and minor ions, nutrients, trace...
Literature compilation of paleocurrent data from the Late Paleozoic Ouachita orogen, Oklahoma-Arkansas, U.S.A. Literature compilation of paleocurrent data from the Late Paleozoic Ouachita orogen, Oklahoma-Arkansas, U.S.A.
This digital geospatial compilation gathered paleoflow indicators from current-formed sedimentary structures throughout the Paleozoic Ozark uplift, Arkoma foreland basin, and Ouachita fold-thrust-belt of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas from existing publications. This dataset consists of unidirectional and bidirectional paleocurrents observed from a variety of bedform types...
Flood Frequency Data for a Streamgage in the Hulahula River Basin, Alaska, 2011–2021 Flood Frequency Data for a Streamgage in the Hulahula River Basin, Alaska, 2011–2021
This data release provides the source data and results of a flood frequency analysis for a streamgage in the Hulahula River Basin, Alaska. Data are provided for one streamgage that had at least 10 years of peak-flow record. The data include streamgage information, PeakFQ input (.txt and .PSF files) PeakFQ output (.PRT, .EXP, and .JPEG files), flood frequency parameters, flood frequency...
Data Release - Digital subsurface data from previously published contoured maps of the tops of the Mowry Shale, Morrison Formation, and Minnelusa Formation, Powder River basin, Wyoming and Montana Data Release - Digital subsurface data from previously published contoured maps of the tops of the Mowry Shale, Morrison Formation, and Minnelusa Formation, Powder River basin, Wyoming and Montana
This digital data release contains previously published contours on the tops of the Mowry Shale, Morrison Formation, and Minnelusa Formation. The maps are from a series of U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Field Studies (MF) showing computer-generated structure contours, isopachs, and cross sections of selected formations in the Powder River basin, Wyoming and Montana (Crysdale 1990...
