Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Counts, Fish Weights, and Spectral Data from a Juvenile Chinook Salmon Polyester Microplastic Fiber Exposure Study Counts, Fish Weights, and Spectral Data from a Juvenile Chinook Salmon Polyester Microplastic Fiber Exposure Study
This release includes all data collected in support of a juvenile Chinook salmon exposure study designed to understand the retention of microplastic clothing fibers (hereon referred to as "microfibers") after feeding. To understand the potential impacts of microfiber ingestion to fish, we ran a feeding experiment with juvenile Chinook salmon to determine if ingested fibers are retained...
Water temperature and riparian vegetation survey data for the lower Quinault River, WA for select periods in 2018 and 2019 Water temperature and riparian vegetation survey data for the lower Quinault River, WA for select periods in 2018 and 2019
This data release includes hourly water temperature data at 12 locations in the main stem of the Quinault River and its major tributaries, and data from a riparian vegetation survey conducted in the lower Quinault River, Washington. Water temperature data was collected during the summer of 2018 and 2019 at most locations. Variable collection periods by site are described within the...
MODFLOW-2005 and SWI2 models for assessing groundwater availability in the volcanic aquifers of Kauai, Oahu, and Maui, Hawaii MODFLOW-2005 and SWI2 models for assessing groundwater availability in the volcanic aquifers of Kauai, Oahu, and Maui, Hawaii
Steady-state numerical groundwater-flow models were constructed for the islands of Kaua'i, O'ahu, and Maui, Hawai'i. Separate models were created for each island using MODFLOW-2005 (Harbaugh, 2005) with the Seawater Intrusion (SWI2) package (Bakker and others, 2013), which allows simulation of freshwater and saltwater in ocean-island aquifers. The purpose of the models is to enable...
Presence of erosional features and cover of grasses, forbs, and bare ground on fields enrolled in grassland, wetland, and wildlife practices of the Conservation Reserve Program in the central and western United States from 2016 to 2018 Presence of erosional features and cover of grasses, forbs, and bare ground on fields enrolled in grassland, wetland, and wildlife practices of the Conservation Reserve Program in the central and western United States from 2016 to 2018
Data included in this data set are from in-field and edge-of-field surveys that recorded the presence of erosional features and cover of vegetation and bare ground on 1786 Conservation Reserve Program fields across three types of conservation practices (grassland, wetland, and wildlife). Field sampling data were recorded across six US Department of Agriculture Farm Production Regions...
Low-Temperature Thermochronometric Data along the Fairweather Fault, Southeast Alaska, 2015-2020 Low-Temperature Thermochronometric Data along the Fairweather Fault, Southeast Alaska, 2015-2020
This dataset provides low-temperature thermochronometric data from 15 rock samples collected along the Fairweather fault in southeast Alaska. These data are from four different analyses used to estimate cooling ages: 1) apatite (U-Th)/He, 2) zircon (U-Th)/He, 3) apatite fission-track, and 4) zircon fission-track.
Single-beam bathymetric survey of the French Broad River near the Interstate-26 bridge located South of Asheville, NC - June 2019, Pre-construction Single-beam bathymetric survey of the French Broad River near the Interstate-26 bridge located South of Asheville, NC - June 2019, Pre-construction
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) began work on a highway widening project on Interstate-26 (I-26) in January 2020. The French Broad River flows adjacent to and under I-26 in the project area, located in Buncombe County of North Carolina. The NCDOT identified channel and streambank morphology as a potential indicator they were interested in monitoring at three focus...
