Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Modeling the Impacts of Sand Placement Strategies on Barrier Island Evolution in a Semi-enclosed Bay System: Model Input and Results Modeling the Impacts of Sand Placement Strategies on Barrier Island Evolution in a Semi-enclosed Bay System: Model Input and Results
The impacts of five proposed restoration alternatives at Little Dauphin Island, Alabama (AL) were assessed using process-based numerical models to simulate annual scale sediment transport and storm-driven morphological change. The five restoration alternatives include a no-action scenario representing a continuous island (R0), a tidal inlet channel realignment (R1), a sand spit (sand...
Coastal Multibeam Bathymetry and Backscatter Data Collected in August 2024 From Breton Island, Louisiana Coastal Multibeam Bathymetry and Backscatter Data Collected in August 2024 From Breton Island, Louisiana
As part of the restoration monitoring component of the Deepwater Horizon early restoration project, scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center in St. Petersburg, Florida (USGS–SPCSMC), conducted a bathymetric survey near Breton Island, Louisiana (LA). During this study, multibeam bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data were collected...
Data on tiger salamander body mass, behavioral activity, and insecticide residues Data on tiger salamander body mass, behavioral activity, and insecticide residues
We evaluated potential effects of deltamethrin and fipronil on tiger salamander (Ambystoma mavortium) body mass, behavioral activity, and insecticide tissue residues. Insecticides were applied at realistic concentrations in mesocosms mimicking prairie dog burrows, which are used as refuge by salamanders under natural conditions. Treatments included (1) deltamethrin dust, (2) prairie dog...
Walrus Haulout Audio Recordings Near Point Lay 2024 Walrus Haulout Audio Recordings Near Point Lay 2024
This dataset consists of a complete set of audio recordings collected near a large walrus haulout at Point Lay, Alaska, during September of 2024. The recordings were collected using the Song Meter Mini 2 (Wildlife Acoustics, Inc., Maynard, MA) at two sites, one within 150 m of a large walrus herd resting on shore and one placed more than 4 km to the south of the herd directly under the...
Water Level, Water Temperature, and Vegetation Biomass at the Nisqually River Delta, WA Water Level, Water Temperature, and Vegetation Biomass at the Nisqually River Delta, WA
This dataset contains water level, water temperature, and vegetation data from 12 locations within the Nisqually River Delta, Washington from 2010 to 2015. This dataset was part of a larger monitoring effort to document hydrological and vegetation changes throughout the Nisqually River Delta following large scale estuarine restoration (dike removal) in 2009.
Greater Sage-Grouse Survival Encounter Histories and Counts in Association with Precipitation, Temperature, and Drought in the Great Basin, USA Greater Sage-Grouse Survival Encounter Histories and Counts in Association with Precipitation, Temperature, and Drought in the Great Basin, USA
A suite of tables filled with greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus; hereafter sage-grouse) survival data and environmental covariate values, extracted to sage-grouse nest, brood, and general locations, as well as lek locations. We quantified 8 indicators of temperature and/or moisture conditions across time spans representing lags of 0-1.5 years, while accounting for other...
