Map of fault scarps formed in unconsolidated sediments, Elko 1 degree by 2 degrees Quadrangle, Nevada and Utah Map of fault scarps formed in unconsolidated sediments, Elko 1 degree by 2 degrees Quadrangle, Nevada and Utah

The accompanying map shows nine areas where fault scarps formed in unconsolidated sediments in the Elko 1°x2° quadrangle, northeastern Nevada and westernmost Utah. The faulted sediments include pebbly to bouldery colluvium, alluvium, and pediment gravels. They are inferred to have been deposited in Quaternary time during the last phase of basin-filling sedimentation.

Map showing abundance and distribution of arsenic in oxide residues of stream-sediment samples, Medford 1 degree by 2 degrees Quadrangle, Oregon-California Map showing abundance and distribution of arsenic in oxide residues of stream-sediment samples, Medford 1 degree by 2 degrees Quadrangle, Oregon-California

Stream-sediment sampling in the Medford 1o x 2o quadrangle was undertaken to provide to aid in assessment of the mineral resource potential of the quadrangle. This map presents data on the abundance and distribution of copper in the oxide residues (oxalic-acid leachates) of stream sediments and in the minus-0.18-mm sieve fraction of selected stream sediments collected in the quadrangle.

Map showing abundance and distribution of chromium in stream-sediment samples, Medford 1 degree by 2 degrees Quadrangle, Oregon-California Map showing abundance and distribution of chromium in stream-sediment samples, Medford 1 degree by 2 degrees Quadrangle, Oregon-California

The Medford quadrangle is located in mountainous southwestern Oregon adjacent to the California border and a short distance east of the Pacific coast. Various parts of this area lie in different geologic provinces. Most of the western half of the quadrangle is underlain by pre-Tertiary rocks of the Klamath Mountains province. However, the Coast Range province is represented by the...

Map showing depth to bedrock in the Seattle 30' by 60' Quadrangle, Washington Map showing depth to bedrock in the Seattle 30' by 60' Quadrangle, Washington

Maps depicting thicknesses of sedimentary units (isopach maps) are standard tools for interpretation of processes and patterns of sedimentation within basins (Potter and Pettijohn, 1977, p. 283-287). Isopach maps showing the thickness of unconsolidated sedimentary deposits overlying bedrock may help locate sources of aggregate and potential ground-water aquifers. These maps also aid in...

Map showing geochemical characteristics of the North Fork Smith River Roadless Areas, Del Norte County, California, Curry and Josephine Counties, Oregon Map showing geochemical characteristics of the North Fork Smith River Roadless Areas, Del Norte County, California, Curry and Josephine Counties, Oregon

The North Fork Smith River Roadless Areas are located primarily in Del Norte County, northern California, include small parts of Curry and Josephine Counties, Oreg., and cover parts of the Gasquet, Crescent City, and Chetco Peak 15-minute quadrangles. The areas encompass aproximately 39,400 acres of Six rivers National Forest and 950 acres of Siskiyou National Forest and extend from just...
