Alex Butcher is a Hydrologic Technician in the New England Water Science Center.
His primary duties lie within the collaborative project between the USGS and FEMA, which involves collecting data and floodplain mapping via surveying and the use of GIS. Prior to joining the USGS, he spent two years living in Washington State gaining experience in the fisheries industry and with water quality monitoring through work with the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and with a local conservation commission.
