Annaliese Seibel
Annaliese Seibel is a Biological Sciences Technician specializing in fish passage research at the Eastern Ecological Science Center's S.O. Conte Research Laboratory in Turners Falls, MA.
Annaliese joined the S.O. Conte Research Laboratory in 2024 to work on the Fish Passage, Behavior and Physiology team and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Environmental Conservation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her current research examines the behavioral motivation and volitional swimming ability of a suite of understudied native freshwater fish species. These results will inform fish passageway designs to improve connectivity at hydraulic barriers, supporting the conservation of freshwater fish populations. Her previous research has focused on the comparative energetics and swimming ability of native anadromous sea lamprey and invasive Great Lakes sea lamprey.
