Belle’s research focuses on the earthquake cycle, using methods from active tectonics and paleoseismology. Research activities include imagery-based and LiDAR-based fault mapping, paleoseismic trenching, GPS and InSAR observations, and coral microatoll paleogeodesy. Research goals include both scientific understanding and earthquake hazard assessment.
