Caleb W Schraeder

Caleb is a Hydrologic Technician with the USGS Colorado Water Science Center (COWSC) in Lakewood, Colorado.

I began my USGS career in 2022 in Redding, CA. My duties in California were primarily focused on surface water stream gaging and was the designated lead tech in GNSS/ trigonometric leveling. I then moved to Lakewood, CO and was happily able to bring my expertise with me to support the team. My personal background consists of growing up in Rapid City, SD and graduating with a B.S. degree in Environmental Geology at South Dakota Mines. I was raised near the Black Hills and loved all activities associated with the outdoors. I decided to pursue locations like home and was able to move to the Rocky Mountain Region and get to admire the landscape every day. Prior to joining the survey, I had experience in groundwater sampling/ analyzing by working alongside with a private sector to determine the potential occurrence of hydrocarbons contamination within the groundwater column.
