Edwin "Clay" Allred

E. Clay Allred has been with the Southwest Biological Science Center in Flagstaff, AZ since the spring of 2018 and currently serves as their Administrative Officer. He loves the diverse landscape of the Southwest and spends as much time as possible exploring it when he’s not in the office.

Clay started his career as a Backcountry River Ranger for the National Park Service in Moab, UT, and has held many positions within the Department of Interior. After patrolling the river and fighting wildland fire, he moved into exotic plant management and river restoration on both the Colorado and Green Rivers within Canyonlands National Park. Here, his love of river work led to him getting his master's degree in science, studying river restoration. In 2014, Clay had the opportunity to move into an administrative position for the Southeast Utah Group of the NPS and has been in administration ever since. In the Southwest Biological Science Center, he has served as both a Budget Analyst and Administrative Officer.
