Gregory (Everett) Lasher, Ph.D.
G. Everett Lasher, Physical Scientist, USGS, Central Midwest Water Science Center, located in DeKalb, Illinois.
Everett started researching water quality and climate issues as an undergraduate at Dickinson College (B.S. Geology, 2011) where he studied how variable streamflow conditions affected heavy metal and nutrient transport/remobilization in Pennsylvania rivers. He also has an interest in working with spatial-temporal data and worked at Arizona State University coordinating geospatial related initiatives and projects. In 2013, he started a Ph.D. program at Northwestern University (Ph.D. Earth and Planetary Sciences, 2019) studying paleoclimate and lake sediments records from Greenland. During his graduate studies, he traveled to the Arctic for six field seasons, gathering geologic samples from remote field camps. He has a background using a combination of stable isotope and sedimentary geochemical techniques to answer diverse questions about changing hydroclimatic conditions and continued to apply these skills during post-doctoral work at the University of Pittsburgh. Everett joined the USGS in late 2022, and is currently working on surface water modeling projects, and chemical, physical and biological related projects concerning water bodies around the midwestern US.
