Jay Spillum
Jay Spillum is a hydrologic technician at the USGS Oregon Water Science Center.
I started as a student in Portland hired on for the summer in 1996 following the well known '96 flood, and eventually was hired on full time. Work has always been focused on performing the widely variable duties of a hydrologic technician. This has included making routine flow measurements, water quality parameter assessments and servicing gaging stations as well as the installation, maintenance and removal of gaging stations and cableways. Finalizing the data we collect for publication is another main focus. I also became an instructor for motorboat and ATV operation.
