Mark Bailen

Mark Bailen is a Web Specialist at the USGS Astrogeology Science Center. He initiates, plans, manages and collaborates on both major and minor planetary science web and database projects for a team of over seventy planetary scientists, archivist and cartographers.

  • USGS / NASA - Astropedia Planetary Data and Cartography Catalogue: http://astrogeology.usgs.gov/search. Managed development team, acted as technical and design lead.
  • Lowell Observatory / NASA / USGS - Lowell Minor Planet Services - https://asteroid.lowell.edu. Built the user-interface that performs asteroid plotting.
  • IAU / USGS / NASA - Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature: http://planetarynames.wr.usgs.gov. Built user-interface and mapping tools.
  • USGS / NASA PDS Imaging Node - PILOT: http://pilot.wr.usgs.gov. Acted as technical and design lead. Built site.
