Natalie C. Hall, PhD

Natalie is a Supervisory Geographer and Physical Scientist at the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Water Science Center with a focus of expertise on hyperspectral remote sensing and imaging of algae.

Natalie’s work has been dedicated to water quality, including harmful algal blooms (HABs) and urban stormwater. Other areas of interest have included soils-based research into microbial denitrifier communities in urban stormwater best management practices. Current research is focused on design, development, and validation testing of lab and field hyperspectral instrumentation, along with development of an algal spectral library. These efforts seek to advance our ability to ground truth satellite imagery with well-characterized optical instrumentation and data.
