Rebecca (Becca) A Meerdink

Rebecca Meerdink is a Hydrologic Technician, with the USGS, Central Midwest Water Science Center, located in Urbana, Illinois. Becca first became interested in water quality and water management in high school while working on a watershed assessment project for her riverside community.

Becca's work as a watershed coordinator provided funds for farmers to engage in conservation practices on their fields to improve soil and water quality. She continued this with the Ilinois State Water Survey, where she conducted sampling for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's (IEPA) Ambient Water Quality Monitoring Network (AWQMN). Now, as a Hydrologic Techician with USGS, Becca will continue to sample for the IEPA, and assist in maintaining gage stations in central Illinois.
