Taylor Cunningham

Taylor joined USGS in December 2020 as a Pathways Intern for The National Map Corps team. He is a senior at the University of Colorado-Boulder studying both Geography (GIS emphasis) as well as Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (Wildlife Biology).

Biography

Taylor joined USGS in December 2020 as a Pathways Intern for The National Map Corps team. He is a senior at the University of Colorado-Boulder studying both Geography (GIS emphasis) as well as Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (Wildlife Biology). Taylor has lived in Colorado since 2017 after six years in active duty with the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he was an aircrew sensor operator aboard the since-retired P-3C Orion where he operated non-acoustic sensors including RADAR, Electro-Optics/Infrared, and even Magnetic Anomaly Detection. During his tenure in the Navy, he was deployed three times to either Asia or the Middle East supporting surveillance missions. Taylor did similar work in the reserves for three more years and finally separated fully this past September.
