Water temperature in the Upper Missouri, Milk, and Yellowstone Rivers, and associated air temperature and discharge data Water temperature in the Upper Missouri, Milk, and Yellowstone Rivers, and associated air temperature and discharge data
The data set contains measurement locations and measurements of daily and sub-daily water temperature, daily river discharge, and daily air temperature for several sites in the Upper Missouri River basin of Montana and North Dakota, 2001-2022. Water temperature sites include: the Missouri River upstream from Fort Peck Reservoir, Montana; multiple locations through a 351-km reach...
Transcriptomics in Black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus) Transcriptomics in Black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus)
Invasive carp (silver carp, bighead carp, grass carp, and black carp) are a highly impactful species with high fecundities, and they are currently expanding their ranges throughout the Central United States. These four species are known to avoid the conventional gear used to capture native fish species, and traditional removal methods are highly inefficient at capturing fish when at low...
Survival of early life stages of Lampsilis siliquoidea exposed to Syngenta Crop Protection product SYN549522B Survival of early life stages of Lampsilis siliquoidea exposed to Syngenta Crop Protection product SYN549522B
This data set contains toxicity data from 24- and 96-hour water bioassays to assess the effects of a Syngenta Crop Protection product on early life stages of a freshwater mussel. We used ASTM International methods to conduct tests with juveniles and glochidia of the freshwater mussel Lampsilis siliquoidea. Analytical chemistry and water quality analysis results are included as well.
Concentration of PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonic acid) in water and freshwater diatoms (Mayamaea atomus) in a bioaccumulation study conducted at U.S. Geological Survey, Columbia Environmental Research Center in July 2021 Concentration of PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonic acid) in water and freshwater diatoms (Mayamaea atomus) in a bioaccumulation study conducted at U.S. Geological Survey, Columbia Environmental Research Center in July 2021
Two laboratory experiments were conducted to understand PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonic acid) bioaccumulation in freshwater benthic diatoms (Mayamaea atomus). The first experiment tested bioconcentration at multiple PFOS concentrations (0, 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, 100 micrograms per liter) after 7 days of exposure. The second explored uptake and depuration of 0.1 micrograms per liter PFOS at...
Summarized model outputs for a predator-prey-competitor model for Macrhybopsis and Scaphirhynchus in the Lower Missouri River Summarized model outputs for a predator-prey-competitor model for Macrhybopsis and Scaphirhynchus in the Lower Missouri River
Data represents summarized model outputs for various simulation scenarios performed used the Fish community bioenergetics model published at: https://doi.org/10.5066/P1XAZ6K9. A number of scenarios were explored to address specific queries regarding sturgeon-chub-invertebrate dynamics in the lower Missouri River. Data include a simulated pallid sturgeon maximum weight over time under...
Chub whole body calorimetry, feeding trial ration, and chironomid weights to develop inputs for a bioenergetics community model Chub whole body calorimetry, feeding trial ration, and chironomid weights to develop inputs for a bioenergetics community model
A series of laboratory studies were conducted to understand Sicklefin and Shoal Chub feeding rates and maximum ration. Data included determination of Chironomid weight, estimated by taking weights and counts of approximately 5 grams of laboratory cultured chironomids. Chub maximum ration was determined by finding the feeding rate of dry commercial fish food that thar resulted in complete
Length and dry mass of adult aquatic insects emerging from wetlands in the Prairie Pothole Region, North Dakota, USA, 2015-2016 Length and dry mass of adult aquatic insects emerging from wetlands in the Prairie Pothole Region, North Dakota, USA, 2015-2016
This data release includes individual lengths, total dry mass, and taxonomic classification for a subset of adult aquatic insects captured emerging from the surface of wadeable wetlands in cropland and grassland landscapes across a salinity/hydrology gradient (N = 14 wetlands in 2015, N = 15 wetlands in 2016). Sampling was completed in late spring, after ice off was complete and during...
One-dimensional hydraulic and environmental DNA transport models for the Wallens Bend reach of the Clinch River, near Kyles Ford, Tennessee One-dimensional hydraulic and environmental DNA transport models for the Wallens Bend reach of the Clinch River, near Kyles Ford, Tennessee
This dataset includes the one-dimensional HEC-RAS model calibration files and simulation input and output files for the Wallens Bend (WB) reach on the Clinch River near Kyles Ford, Tennessee. Simulation results were used as input for environmental DNA transport models.
Grass Carp Movement and Removal Effort Data from the Sandusky River, Lake Erie, Ohio, USA from 2022 to 2023 Grass Carp Movement and Removal Effort Data from the Sandusky River, Lake Erie, Ohio, USA from 2022 to 2023
Data include grass carp position and sampling data from 2022 to 2023. We used grass carp that were implanted with acoustic transmitters. The position data was generated in Fathom Position from receivers that composed several VEMCO Positioning Systems (VPS). We also queried the Great Lakes Acoustic Telemetry Observation Network (GLATOS) to obtain non-VPS position detections from receivers...
Orthoimagery, digital surface model, and point cloud for the Big Bend restoration site, West Jordan Utah, January, 2022 Orthoimagery, digital surface model, and point cloud for the Big Bend restoration site, West Jordan Utah, January, 2022
The products presented here document conditions at the Big Bend restoration site on the Jordan River, West Jordan, Utah in January, 2022. Multiband imagery was collected shortly after the initiation of restoration actions. Images were collected using a 3DR Solo unoccupied aerial system (UAS) at a height approximately 400 feet above the surface of the Jordan River flood plain using a...
Water quality, and periphyton growth, copper concentration, and community structure data associated with a nutrient diffusing substrate experiment conducted in Pear Lake, Sequoia National Park, California in 2022 Water quality, and periphyton growth, copper concentration, and community structure data associated with a nutrient diffusing substrate experiment conducted in Pear Lake, Sequoia National Park, California in 2022
This dataset includes files associated with a 21-day nutrient diffusing substrate experiment run in Pear Lake of Sequoia National Park, California in summer 2022. The experiment was designed to evaluate the effects of different treatment levels of a macronutrient (nitrogen) and a micronutrient (copper) on periphyton growth and community structure in an alpine lake. While the effects of...
Effects of aquatic nitrate exposures in the Laboratory on brain transcriptome in fathead minnows Effects of aquatic nitrate exposures in the Laboratory on brain transcriptome in fathead minnows
These RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data were collected to better understand how exposure to environmentally relevant doses of nitrate affects the brain transcriptome in fathead minnows. Fish were exposed to nominal doses of 0, 2, 5, 10, 25, or 100 mg/L nitrate nitrogen (NO3-N), added to flow-through well water as sodium nitrate. Transcriptomic data were collected from three experiments that...
