Global Forest Cover Change (GFCC) Data Dictionary
The Data Dictionaries are a set of information describing the contents, format, and structure of elements for EarthExplorer products.
- Field Definition: The last day of data acquisition.
Format:
YYYY/MM/DD
- Field Definition: The first day of data acquisition.
Format:
YYYY/MM/DD
- Field Definition: The latitude and longitude are provided in decimal degrees for the following fields:
Scene Center Latitude and Longitude
Northeast (NE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Northwest (NW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southeast (SE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southwest (SW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Latitude Format Decimal Degrees: -90.000 through 90.000
Longitude Format Decimal Degrees: -180.000 through 180.000
Number of decimal places will vary by dataset – check collection in EE.
Coordinates - Degrees, Minutes, Seconds
- Field Definition: The latitude and longitude of the scene in degrees, minutes, and seconds for the following fields:
Values:
Scene Center Latitude and Longitude
Northeast (NE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Northwest (NW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southeast (SE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southwest (SW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Longitude Format:
DDDMMSS.SSH
DDD = Degree(s) with a range of 0 through 180
MM = Minute(s) with a range of 0 through 59
SS.SS = Second(s) with a range of 0 through 59.99
H = Hemisphere with E for east and W for west
Latitude Format:
DDMMSS.SSH
DD = Degree(s) with a range of 0 through 90
MM = Minutes(s) with a range of 0 through 59
SS.SS = Second(s) with a range of 0 through 59.99
H = Hemisphere with N for north and S for south
- Field Definition: Date the data were last updated in the database
- Field Definition: The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Authority provides the infrastructure for the registration and services for a persistent reference. The DOI authority is used along with the DOI Name to view the associated URL for the product.
Example:
http://dx.doi.org or https://doi.org
- Field Definition: Digital Object Identifier is used to uniquely and permanently identify a dataset. The DOI name is more stable than a URL and is used as a permanent reference for the product. The DOI name can be entered into a DOI Authority system to view the associated URL for the product.
Example:
10.5067/MEaSUREs/GFCC/GFCC30FCC.001
- Field Definition: The naming convention of each file is based on the Local Granule ID. The Entity ID may match the Local Granule ID for some data sets.
Format:
GFCC30FCC Format = PPPPPPPPP_pXXXrXXX_TT_EEEEeeee.zip
GFCC30SR Format = PPPPPPPPP_pXXXrXXX_cccYYYYMMDD.TT.zip
GFCC30TC Format = PPPPPPPP_pXXX_rXXX_TT_EEEE.zip
GFCC30WC Format = PPPPPPPP_pXXX_rXXX_TT_YYYYMMDD.tif
PPPPPPPP = Product Short Name (Number of characters may vary by data set)
pXXX = Landsat Path Number
rXXX = Landsat Row Number
TT = Product Type (Number of characters may vary by data set)
ccc = GFCC Research Code (5dx or 7x)
YYYYMMDD = Acquisition Date
EEEE = Epoch Year
