MEaSUREs Data Dictionary
The Data Dictionaries are a set of information describing the contents, format, and structure of elements for EarthExplorer products.
- Field Definition: The last day of data acquisition.
Format:
YYYY/MM/DD
- Field Definition: The first day of data acquisition.
Format:
YYYY/MM/DD
- Field Definition: The latitude and longitude are provided in decimal degrees for the following fields:
Scene Center Latitude and Longitude
Northeast (NE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Northwest (NW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southeast (SE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southwest (SW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Latitude Format Decimal Degrees: -90.000 through 90.000
Longitude Format Decimal Degrees: -180.000 through 180.000
Number of decimal places will vary by dataset – check collection in EE.
Coordinates - Degrees, Minutes, Seconds
- Field Definition: The latitude and longitude of the scene in degrees.
Values:
Scene Center Latitude and Longitude
Northeast (NE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Northwest (NW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southeast (SE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southwest (SW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Longitude Format:
DDDMMSS.SSH
DDD = Degree(s) with a range of 0 through 180
MM = Minute(s) with a range of 0 through 59
SS.SS = Second(s) with a range of 0 through 59.99
H = Hemisphere with E for east and W for west
Latitude Format:
DDMMSS.SSH
DD = Degree(s) with a range of 0 through 90
MM = Minutes(s) with a range of 0 through 59
SS.SS = Second(s) with a range of 0 through 59.99
H = Hemisphere with N for north and S for south
- Field Definition: System that provides an infrastructure for the registration and persistent reference of a Digital Object Identifier. The DOI name can be entered into a DOI Authority system to view the associated URL for the product.
Example:
http://dx.doi.org
- Field Definition: Digital Object Identifier is used to uniquely and permanently identify a dataset. The DOI name is more stable than a URL and is used as a permanent reference for the product. The DOI name can be entered into a DOI Authority system to view the associated URL for the product.
Values:
(prefix)/(suffix)
Prefix – 10.(number) where (number) identifies registrant agent. 5067 has been assigned for NASA ESDIS.
Suffix – uniquely identifies the data item and its format is assigned and managed by the registrant agent.
Example:
10.5067/MEaSUREs/GFSAD/GFSAD1KCM.001
- Field Definition: The naming convention of each file is based on the Local Granule ID. The Entity ID may match the Local Granule ID for some data sets.
Format:
Grid Format: PPPPPPPP_YYYY_LatLon_VVV_YYYYDDDHHMMSS.tif
Global Format: PPPPPPPP.YYYY.VVV.YYYYDDDHHMMSS.tif
PPPPPPPP= Product Short Name (Number of characters may vary by data set)
YYYY = Nominal Acquisition Year
LatLon = 10 x 10 degree grid
VVV = Version Number
YYYYDDDHHMMSS = Julian Date of Production
tif = Data Format
Example:
Grid Example: GFSAD30AFCE_2015_S20E10_001_2017261090100.tif
Global Example: GFSAD1KCD.2010.001.2016348142525.tif
- Field Definition: The name of an individual file.
Format:
