Meet Our Center Director

Roy C. Bartholomay is the Director of the USGS Idaho Water Science Center. 

Prior to assuming the duties of Center Director in 2021, Roy Bartholomay served as the chief of our Idaho National Laboratory Project Office. The U.S. Department of the Interior recognized his leadership in that role by awarding him its Meritorious Service Award, the second highest civilian award that the Department grants. He has authored or co-authored close to 100 scientific publications during his career. 

A native of North Dakota, Roy previously served as the Water-Quality Specialist and Chief of the Huron Programs Office of the USGS South Dakota Water Science Center from 2002 to 2007. groundwater recharge and modeling.
