Aquatic Ecology and Fisheries Biology

The Leetown Science Center aquatic ecology and fisheries biology research program provides decision-relevant science for ecological and evolutionary restoration and conservation at multiple spatial and temporal scales.  Our team's scientific expertise includes conservation genetics, imperiled species science, decision support analysis, data visualization tools, habitat vulnerability assessments and conservation planning, and aquatic ecology from headwater streams to tidal freshwater systems.  Research is focused to address Eastern U.S. natural resource conservation and management needs but often involves national issues.   Laboratories are supported by an abundance of high quality water, innovative genetics equipment, and experimental stream lab, 21 research ponds and additional laboraties which allow for multi-scale replicated experiments.
