The USGS will collect monthly water quality and quantity data from Neldon's Brook and Indian Brook in support of the Swartswood Lake and Watershed Association's (SWLA) development of a regional storm water management plan (RSWMP).
START DATE: 25-FEB-2004
END DATE: 01-APR-2005
PROJECT NUMBER: 2454BEL
STUDY OBJECTIVES:
- Install staff gage near outlet of Neldon's Brook
- Train observers to read staff gage
- Install and maintain a Crest Stage Gage (CSG) near outlet of Neldon's Brook.
- Measure discharge at three stations along Neldon's Brook and one station in Indian Creek near the mouth of Swartswood Lake.
- Enter data into USGS databases and publish results in the annual data report.
- Summarize findings and deliver stream discharge database at project completion.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM:
The USGS will collect monthly water quality and quantity data from Neldon's Brook and Indian Brook in support of the Swartswood Lake and Watershed Association's (SWLA) development of a regional storm water management plan (RSWMP).
STRATEGY AND APPROACH:
Goal 1: Document discharge to Swartswood Lake from Neldon's Brook
Goal 2: Document water quality of Neldon's Brook and Indian Creek
Goal 3: Document changes in Swartswood Lake's stage To set with Rutgers Univ.up two realtime monitoring sites in Barnegat Bay using existing telemetry at two USGS tide sites.
