Xan Fredericks, Lidar Coordinator for the CMHRP and Associate National Map Liaison to Florida, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands for the NGP, has been invited by The Central Florida GIS Workshop, Inc. to be the Keynote Speaker for the 2019 Central Florida GIS Workshop.
Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program (CMHRP) Lidar Coordinator/National Geospatial Program (NGP) Associate National Map Liaison invited as Keynote Speaker at the 2019 Central Florida Geographic Information System (GIS) Workshop
The keynote is titled “How the USGS Serves Florida Geospatially” and will showcase how the USGS collaborates and coordinates with other Federal, state, and local agencies, as well as how GIS supports the communication and dissemination of geospatial data though tools, such as the Coastal Change Hazards Portal.
The Central Florida GIS Workshop, Inc. is a volunteer effort arising from the work of a number of dedicated GIS professionals in the Central Florida region who have acted as the Workshop Committee since the Workshop's original inception in 2005 and is a nonprofit organization qualifying under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Its purpose is to provide educational opportunities, encourage data sharing, promote training opportunities, and present information on current events to governmental, non-profit and private sector users of geographic information systems within Central Florida and throughout the State of Florida.
