Floods

A flood occurs when water levels rise and a body of water overflows its normal boundaries onto what is normally dry land. Flooding can be caused by factors such as prolonged and/or intense rainfall, abnormally intense tides, debris jams causing waterways to back up, or the failure of natural or manmade dams.
