Algal associated Benthic macroinvertebrate data collected in the Great Lakes, 2024
This data set includes information on macroinvertebrate community composition collected along with benthic algae and dreissenid mussels from May to October of 2024. Stations are located along the U.S. shoreline of Lakes Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario. Macroinvertebrates were identified from benthic samples collected by scuba divers. Macroinvertebrates, algae, and dreissenids were separated in the lab during sample processing and preserved macroinvertebrates were observed and identified using microscopic examination. This dataset is part of a larger data set collected in 2024, that includes algal and dreissenid mussel biomass; water quality assessments; and diver observations of dreissenid mussels, round gobies, benthic substrate, and benthic algal cover (https://doi.org/10.5066/P1WLGXGZ).
