Assessing spatial variability of nutrients and related water quality constituents in the California Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta: 2021-2022 High resolution mapping surveys in the North Delta-Suisun Habitat Arc
November 4, 2026
Broad-area, high-resolution, boat-based water quality mapping surveys of the North Delta-Suisun Habitat Arc were conducted in July 2021, September 2021, and October 2022. Each survey was comprised of one day of high-resolution mapping. On each day, the route of the mapping survey was determined by weather, tides and other logistical considerations. Data were collected at high speed to minimize the extent to which tidal currents obscure nutrient and phytoplankton distributions.
