Automated source water assessment area delineation for public supply wells in the Treasure Valley, southwestern Idaho.
This data release contains the TVSWA_Delineator tool, and the associated groundwater-flow and particle-tracking model files used to define source water assessment areas for public water supply wells in the Treasure Valley. It includes a Python-based executable utilizing the FloPy package, specialized MODPATH 7 particle-tracking configurations, and a modified version of the MODFLOW 6 Treasure Valley Groundwater Flow Model. The tool utilizes quadtree local grid refinement and backward particle tracking to define 3-, 6-, and 10-year source water assessment areas. This data release provides both the source code and the final output files including pathline maps and a geographic information system shapefile for the public-water supply welli. The README file describes all the files and directories in the data release and provides instructions for running the tool.
