Benthic algae and plankton occurrence information to support environmental DNA surveys at nine selected sites the Tualatin River Basin
Dataset includes qualitative benthic algae and plankton occurrence data from 148 discrete samples of plankton (n=58) collected with an 80-micron mesh plankton net and streambed sediment (n=90) collected using a pipettor and(or) petri dish and spatula. Samples were collected, placed on ice, and analyzed within 1-3 days. Multiple wet mount slides were prepared and examined with a Leica DM1000 light microscope under 40x, 400x, and 1000x magnification. The various organisms were identified to genus using Prescott (1978) and Wehr and Sheath (2003).
