Catch and mark-recapture data to estimate abundance of humpback chub Gila cypha in western Grand Canyon from 2010-2024
December 1, 2025
This dataset describes the catch of humpback chub (Gila cypha) in baited hoop nets from humpback chub aggregations monitoring trips that occurred 2010-2024. Additionally, this data set includes tables that describe the number of captures and recaptures for repeat visits (i.e., mark-recapture) as well as categorical habitat scores from two experts assigned to the Colorado River in western Grand Canyon. Collectively, these data were used to estimate abundance of humpback chub in western Grand Canyon.
