This data release describes critical and functional habitat for seabirds and shorebirds along Cat Island and Ship Island, Mississippi for the Mississippi Coastal Improvements Program (MsCIP). These maps were developed from existing habitat maps developed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Wetland Inventory Program and maps developed specifically for the MsCIP Monitoring and Adaptive Management Program Critical habitat for shorebirds on the islands including areas above mean lower low water. Potential foraging and roosting habitats were developed using the land cover information from the previously mentioned existing maps. This metadata file describes the overview of this data release.
