Field Site Locations from Phragmites Bioherbicide 2024 Field Experiment in Southeast Michigan
April 10, 2025
This dataset represents the locations of experimental plots that were used during the Phragmites bioherbicide 2024 field experiment, where a novel bio-based formula for herbicide was applied to Phragmites australis to test the efficacy of Phragmites bioherbicide as a tool to control invasive Phragmites. To meet the criteria for selection, a site must have relatively dry soil with no standing water, have two or more large monotypic stands of Phragmites australis, and be easily accessible by vehicle. Experimental plots were created at these sites and one of four treatments were applied to each plot involving either tap water or bioherbicide. Data here represents the area cleared of standing Phragmites via mechanical trimming in preparation of experimental design. In addition, the raw spatial data locating experimental plots (in polygons) are provided, and a clean file of 1-meter by 1-meter polygons of plot locations provides the final and most accurate locations of experimental plots.
