Finite fault model of the 2025 Mw7.7 Mandalay, Burma (Myanmar), earthquake

January 6, 2026

This data release complements the following publication: D.E. Goldberg and others (2025). Ultralong, supershear rupture of the 2025 Mw 7.7 Mandalay earthquake reveals unaccounted risk. Science 390, 458-462. https://doi.org/10.1126/science.ady3581

It contains the preferred model results published in the manuscript referenced above. It also contains the input data and model parameters required to reproduce, or modify, this finite fault model using the software available at https://code.usgs.gov/ghsc/neic/algorithms/neic-finitefault (Koch and others, 2024).

Please refer to the attached ReadMe.txt file for details about all the data, model inputs, modeling parameters, and model output included in the data release. Citations for the seismic network data is available in the attached file Seismic_Network_Citations.txt. Sentinel-2 optical observations are from the European Space Agency.
