Hyperspectral image data from the Niobrara River, Nebraska, November 2012 and August 2016

Hyperspectral image data from the Niobrara River, a dynamic, sand-bed channel in northern Nebraska, were acquired in November 2012 and again in August 2016 to support research on remote sensing of rivers, particularly retrieval of water depth and tracking of mobile bedforms. These data were collected by the Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (CASI) 1500H manufactured by ITRES Research Limited. The data were acquired from fixed wing aircraft and have spatial resolutions (pixel sizes) from 0.5 - 0.6 m. The data consist of a large number of spectral bands spanning the visible and near infrared wavelengths and have been radiometrically corrected. The image pixel values represent spectral radiance units of 1 uW cm-2 sr-1 nm-1, with a data multiplier (scale factor) of 1000. No atmospheric correction was performed for the data provided in this release.
