Lake Trout (Salvelinus namaycush) Morphometrics, Mercury Concentrations, Age and Growth, and Food Web Metrics for Lakes in Alaskan National Parks, 2020-2023
February 18, 2026
This data release provides information on lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) collected from 10 lakes located in Alaska's national parks. The data are in two tables: (1) capture information, (2) morphometric measurements and mercury (Hg) concentrations, and a folder of individual photographs of captured lake trout. Lake trout were collected between September of 2020 and August of 2023 from Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Noatak National Preserve, and Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. The full dataset will be used to evaluate the transfer of mercury through lake food webs to the top-predator, lake trout.
