Measured and computed PFAS concentrations in surface microlayer, water column, suspended sediment, bed sediment, and porewater from tributaries of the Great Lakes, March - August, 2024

September 8, 2026

PFAS measurements were made in environmental media from the Great Lakes region, including surface microlayer, water column, suspended sediment, bed sediment, and porewater. Environmental media were collected from various tributaries in the Root River (Wisconsin), Oak Creek (Wisconsin), and Howe Drain (Michigan) watersheds in the Great Lakes region. Field samples were collected within each watershed during three field campaigns between April and August 2024. Measured concentrations were used to calculate total water column concentrations and enrichment factors to describe the relative differences between related environmental compartments.
