Neutron scattering intensities of Niobrara Formation rocks with pressurized perdeuterated methane, perdeuterated methane-methane, and perdeuterated methane-ethane mixtures
This data release (https://doi.org/10.5066/P13JNYU2) contains neutron scattering intensities of a Niobrara Formation rock sample in the presence of pressurized perdeuterated methane, perdeuterated methane-methane, and perdeuterated methane-ethane mixtures at 60 degrees C. Also provided are the densities and scattering length densities for the various fluid mixtures and modeled accessible pore fractions. These data are in support of the publication titled “Neutron scattering reveals fractionation of natural gas mixtures in unconventional petroleum reservoir pores: Perspectives on energy resource recovery and storage” available at https://doi.org/10.1016/j.fuel.2026.140015. Neutron scattering measurements were conducted in July 2024 at the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source using the NIMROD, beam allocation RB2410005. Raw measurement data are available at https://doi.org/10.5286/ISIS.E.RB2410005 following an embargo period (ends July 2027).
